Since I grew up in the neighborhood, we like to go here. Bavarian cuisine and always very nice service. Sometimes it is a bit noisy in the guest room. So we prefer to come in summer and sit in the small beer garden.
Good meal and service. Not expansive and quiet. Good adress.
The best veal schnitzel so far. At a fair price for Munich standards. Very friendly and professional staff. Quiet and cozy atmosphere. All the best
It was already delicious. We treated ourselves to an almond schmarn as dessert, which we can highly recommend.
Wow! Super nice, rustic ambience with a matching vintage touch and totally cozy! The food was MEGA delicious, and without waiting too long. Unfortunately there is no children's menu, but you can order small portions. The waitresses were all very friendly and courteous, the service impeccable. Highly recommended! Price-performance ratio is definitely right and anyone who thinks it would be a bit expensive should try the food. It's worth every penny!
Very nice ambience, delicious food and very friendly staff. Price performance very fair. Main course : Entrecote, medium plus just right. Dessert: pyre Very good mouso chocolate and spiced bread with it Simply delicious
The lunch menu is very varied and delicious. The portion is completely sufficient for me as a woman and if you are really hungry you can also order a cheap salad and / or the delicious dessert. Value for money is totally fair and what for me is the best thing, the food is served within 15 minutes of the friendly condition.
We were here on a Sunday evening and were welcomed in a friendly manner as spontaneous visitors and found a place in the cozy beer garden. We had Obazda - very tasty, a lot. Just one more pretzel wouldn't have hurt. The main course was the Straubischnitzel, which was mega-crispy, spicy and juicy. Also the veal cream goulash. That was very different from what I expected, but for the better. Not heavy and fatty, but full of flavor, with lots of porcini mushrooms and very tender veal. Only the pretzel dumplings could have used a little more texture and flavor. The Griesflammeri with raspberry pulp as dessert was the crowning, creamy finish. The service - especially Sandra! - was very attentive, quick and friendly and really gave us a nice evening.
The best Bavarian location in Munich. I've been there several times before and often bring my visitors there to enjoy the extremely delicious dishes. Nevertheless, unfortunately, the dishes sometimes change. For example, there was a small salad at the Obazda platter in July and August, but this was missing on my last visit. When I asked the waitress about this, they reacted very professionally and in a friendly manner. All other dishes are extremely tasty, including the almond pancake. 😍
Quaint restaurant with really delicious food from German cuisine. Even the dressing for the side salad had oomph. The service was quick and friendly; only the lighting was too dim for our taste.
Gourmet meets brewery. The quality of the food is well above the brewery level. The shreds of ox with potato biscuits and cognac sauce were fried to the point and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Summer salad with goat cheese au gratin was also very tasty. The Kaiserschmarrn dessert with almonds and homemade apple compote is freshly prepared and the portion is intended as a dessert for two people. The super delicious dinner was rounded off by a gentian from the oak barrel. It has rarely been easier to give the full five stars in the rating. Prices are also okay for the location about a minute from Viktualienmarkt, neighboring breweries are more expensive. In addition to the usual beers such as light and wheat beer, there are also naturally cloudy cellar beer and dark, naturally cloudy draft beer.
Nice restaurant in downtown Munich. There are a variety of dishes, all of which are really delicious. The prices are perfectly okay. A reservation in advance is always recommended in Munich.
Sitting in the cool shade of the tall chestnut trees in the summer heat is extremely relaxing. Courteous and attentive service that make your stay very pleasant, plus excellent cuisine. Stop at the "Straubinger".
If you get a seat directly in front of the toilet, you lose your appetite plus the bored attitude and handling of the waitress who shrugs her shoulders and doesn't bother to look for another seat. My tip for keeping your distance: Just because your regular guests pay you half the rent doesn't mean that you have to be served differently.
Very nice, cozy Bavarian inn. Mega friendly & fast service. Even in corona times, uncomplicated. The food was very tasty and special requests were also catered for. The guest is king here 👍
My favourite Bavarian restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and the service amazing.
A must everytime we go to München. It is near Viktualienmarkt and Eatly. In fall-winter enjoy cozy setting and comfort of warm and filling traditional or seasonal foods. In the Summer enjoy sitting out in the courtyard under large shade giving trees. Recommend making a reservation, especially if going during peak tourist season or holidays.
If you are hungry then keep your fingers off the ox scraps. It tastes good, but the portion is too small for the price, is more of a children's plate, and lukewarm. Communicated both to the waitress when paying. Better take the duck, but the red cabbage tastes a bit strange ... the salad of my loved ones wasn't that special either. The beer was at least good!
Great food, great service.
In itself a nice little beer garden with a cozy layout. The waitresses were nice too. However, in my opinion the quality of the dishes does not do justice to the price. I ordered a roast pork with dumplings, a radler, a light one and an apple strudel. Light 4.30 | Cyclists 4.30 | Roast pork 11.50 (was pretty much the cheapest dish) Apple strudel 7.50 (quite small)
We came by here for a late lunch to try it out. We walked from Marienplatz through the Viktualienmarkt to get here. It was fairly busy when we arrived around 1430 with all the tables being full. We decided to just wait for a table but it was a bit hard to get someone's attention since they were all busy. We eventually got a waiter's attention and waited a bit more to get a table ready. After about 10 minutes of standing awkwardly by the entrance, we were eventually led to a table around the back. We were seated and had menus in English. We then ordered drinks and food to share. The food here is amazing. Really delicious and the portions weren't too bad. The schnitzel and pork knuckle were juicy and crispy. I also quite liked the dumplings, particularly the yellow (potato?) one due to its sticky texture. Although there was a bit of a wait at the start, the waiter was very friendly and the food is really nice. Quite a nice food stop in Munich.
Excellent food and beer
Good
I was at the "Zum Straubinger" inn in Munich for the second time in four years and was not disappointed the second time. On the contrary, the food was really delicious and also optically great and priced absolutely okay for Munich standards. Above all the service was excellent, very courteous and totally nice. Absolutely deserved 5 stars and would love to come back!
Poor menu with quite a few dishes. No Pictures in the menu, not much value for 30 euro dinner. Nice interior but the good was nothing special
Very tasty place. Highly recommend!!!
Great place. Good food, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, good beer.
Tradition meets classic Rock music
It was fine. Food came quickly. Service was prompt, but a little cold to non native Germans.
Food and drink were reasonably priced and the place is lovely. Very classic feel, lots of beautiful wood. The service was nice enough, but when we wanted another beer, had a question, or needed the bill, there was quite a wait to first find someone and then wait through the time it took for them to eventually get to it.
Nice game area outdoors with glühwein and good traditonal german food indoors
compared to some other very good baverian houses in Munich overpriced. regarding the schnitzel I ate, it was small portion for the high price, but more important you could smell the burnt oil..so i cant recommend it for schnitzel experience..
I came at 2pm & did not have to queue, there was ample space. Ordered the Pork Knuckle which was brilliant - crispy & meaty. The potato dumplings were great too. The portion size was massive & I felt so bad for not being able to finish the meal cos it was delicious. The price was really friendly too. Staff were great! Atmosphere is super traditional & I love it!
Good meals but unfortunately the 'wiener schnitzel' is twice as expensive as the schnitzel from a pig
Is probably the best place where I have eat during my holidays here. Super suggested, prices are fine, people are nice and very kind. I suggest to call to see if there is a table, because is full very often.
Gut
Within the last hour we have had a blonde waitress in her early 40's steal 30 Euros from us here! We gave her a 50 Euro note and received 2.5 Euros change. When we challenged her on this she started shouting at us in German (having been speaking fluent English up until this point). We eventually left having decided we did not have a hope in hell of convincing the managment that we were in the right, with very little knowledge of German, this is clearly a ploy which she regularly opperates. This has never happened to us before in Germany, very unusual. AVOID!!!
Classic Bavarian cooking, great taste
The food was good, with the traditional dishes offered and a good portion size. The restaurant is also in a very good location. The service was ok, just took us some time to be able to order and pay. Would recommend it though!
Great food, great service. Typical Bavarian. Not easy to get a table at peak hours
Polite and understanding staff, excellent food
really nice service! I'm gluten intolerant but this was no problem at all! They've just changed some bits of the actual dish on the menu and made it glutenfree!
Nice food and delicious beer, friendly staff dressed in traditional clothing. We ran into this place for the Bayern Breakfast on the way to town, and it was totally worth it!
The best wiener schnitzel on the trip
The kaiserschmarrn is unbelievable
Great local food with an excellent service. I'll return for sure next time I'm in Munich
Schnitzel was delicious with onion accents in the breading. Service was good and very nice atmosphere. Must reserve in advance
Amazing food! Try the schnitzel or the pretzels with cheese. One of our favorite places to go in Munich!
Excellent dishes. Well prepared dinner. Very helpful staff. Especially Mirsa did his best to help us, although we had not booked a table in advance. All perfect!!
Food was cold when we received it. Waitress got extremely angry when i tolder her the dish was cold and wanted it hot. There were children around who seemed to be frightened by the waitress outburst. Would avoid this place!
